Alan Kwinter

President

Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto in 1972, and has been involved in the treatment of adolescents and their families in British Columbia since 1974. He has extensive experience operating residential treatment centres, schools for troubled youth and family counselling programs in the Lower Mainland of BC. In 1990 Alan founded Hollyburn Family Services with the mission to offer programs that are distinguished by their excellence and the unparalleled commitment and professionalism of the agency's employees. The agency has grown to offer a range of fully integrated community-based and residential services.

Paul J. Tutsch

Vice President

Paul grew up in Montreal and graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) in 1968. Paul spent 35 years in the securities and investment industry in Canada and was a consultant to and director of a number of public and private businesses in British Columbia during 1990s. Paul is presently: President, BC Library Trustees Association; Trustee, Whistler Public Library; Board member, West Vancouver Arts Centre Trust; member, West Vancouver Youth Services Review Implementation Working Group.

Michael Thorne

Secretary

Mike has more than 20 years experience providing comprehensive financial planning services to clients and their families, and over 30 years providing employee benefits consulting services to small and mid size businesses. Mike maintains certification in Financial Planning (CFP, ChFC), and advanced insurance underwriting (CLU), as well as certification as an Elder Planning Counsellor (EPC). Mike received his Bachelor of Arts degree (Geography), and obtained a Certificate in Teaching from the University of British Columbia. Michael's community services include: Sam Sullivan Disability Foundation, Disabled Sailing Association, False Creek Yacht Club, Vancouver Sea Festival, Grey Cup Parade and Molson Indy Vancouver.

Neil Kelly

Treasurer

Neil has a Bachelor of Science, a Masters in Business Administration, and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia since 1994. Neil is currently employed by BC Hydro where he manages a group that provides schedule, cost, risk and other support services to larger generation capital projects. Neil was previously the Treasurer for West Vancouver Family Place Society and is involved in several other community organizations.

David Ayriss

Director at Large

David Ayriss is a retired Portfolio Manager with over 35 years experience in the investment industry. He has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the CFA Institute as well as the International Foundation of Employee Benefit's Plan. He was responsible for managing a significant number of the Leith Wheeler's Pension accounts, as well as University and Corporate mandates. He has been a speaker at TMAC (Treasury Managers Association of Canada) as well as a major Western Canadian University.

Dean Mailey

Director at Large

Dean is the president and founder of Fusion Communications Group. He specializes in the development of effective marketing communications strategies, media buying and planning, ad creation, public and media relations and online strategies. Dean feels that a straightforward, honest approach and clearly defined expectations always produces positive results. Dean is a trusted advisor to, and works closely with such clients as SierraSil, General Paint, Factors Group of Companies, PGX, Larco/Park Royal, and Bayshore Home Health.

Lynn Green

Director at Large

Lynn received a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia, along with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. With this background, she has been a teacher and counsellor in elementary and secondary schools in Ontario and BC, and latterly assumed various leadership roles in the Vancouver School Board. Prior to serving as President and CEO of the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education, Lynn was an Associate Superintendent with the Vancouver Board of Education where she supported the work of 34 elementary and secondary schools throughout the city.

Meite Moser

Director at Large

Meite graduated medical school at the University of Manitoba in 1985. She started her medical career as a locum physician working in remote communities in Northern Manitoba, and in Nunavut. Following completion of a 4 year training program in Emergency Medicine in 1994, she becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well as a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Since then, she has been an attending emergency physician at the Vancouver General Hospital. She also holds the position of clinical assistant professor at the University of British Columbia. She lives on the north shore with her family and animals, where she can frequently be found hiking the North Shore trails.

Christine Alsop

Christine practiced law for 35 years in private practice and also as an in-house General Counsel. She has chaired a number of professional and business associations. Christine has Board experience in many and varied non-profit organizations in sectors such as community service and development, arts and theatre, education, and cultural and historical endeavors. Her professional and community history provides her with valuable experience in governance principles and practices that are fundamental to an organization's successful and effective operations.
